This Weeks New Releases

Yesterday morning as I was scrolling through Spotify’s new release page- a Friday morning tradition- I came across a few songs/albums that really caught my interest…

  • “i’m so tired…” by Lauv and Troye Sivan
    • I have always been a fan of both Lauv and Troye Sivan and when I saw this song on the new release page, I gave it an automatic listen. It has a poppy, upbeat feel to it and it’s catchy, like most of Lauv’s music!
  • “Weezer (Teal Album)” by Weezer
    • I have always had mixed feelings about Weezer’s music, but this album really caught my eye. I expected it to just be a normal album with original music- but it’s not. For this album, Weezer did covers of a bunch of throwback songs, include “Africa,” which has made it to the radio. I thought it was something cool and different and they gave each song a different sound.
  • “Harmony Hall” by Vampire Weekend
    • I was a huge fan of Vampire Weekend in middle school, which was around when they released most of their music. I think this is their first release since around 2013, which is big. Even after 6 years, they have kept the same sound and I love it!
  • “You Don’t Know Me” by Peter Manos
    • This is a completely random find from this weeks new releases. Manos’ cover art seemed interesting and I had never heard the name, so I thought I would give it a try. I was pleased with what I heard, and his voice reminded me of many other artists I listen to. Once I get more free time I can’t wait to explore his other music!
Here’s a playlist with all of the songs I just talked about!!
